JOHN ELWOOD "JACK" STEWART On Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Portage District General Hospital, Jack Stewart passed away at the age of 86 years. He is predeceased by his wife Catherine in February 1995; parents, William (W.B.) and Mabel Stewart; brother Bill Stewart; brothers-in-law, Bob Smithson, Claire Galloway and Ted Smithson; sisters-in-law, Georgina Stewart and Betty Smithson and one nephew Patrick Smithson. Left to mourn his passing are his sons, Robert (Glenda) of Kelowna, BC and their sons, Chris and Grady; Calvin (Margaret) of Medicine Hat, AB and their children, Charmaine and Douglas; a sister Peggy Galloway of Gladstone and several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 11 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Funeral service for Jack Stewart will take place 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 at Trinity United Church on Tupper Street South. Donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Portage District General Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Room, 524-5th St. S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A8 or to a charity of choice.
