Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS "GEORGE" WILLEY It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of our father, grandfather and brother, George Willey, on July 7, 2003. George is lovingly remembered by his son Todd; daughter Heather and grandson Griffin; sisters, Lillian (Morley) Yarmie and Joyce (Ronald) Cumming and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Violet Willey and his sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and David Olford. George was born in Springside, SK on September 9, 1938. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1942, and resided in West Kildonan, where he received his education at Centennial School and West Kildonan Collegiate. He was employed by Aroma Coffee Services. George was an ardent golfer in his youth and was in the championship match at Kildonan Golf Course in 1950. He continued golfing, fishing and camping until his untimely passing. He had been a member of the Elmwood Legion where he had many friends. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Pastor Rod Giesbrecht officiating. If friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to charity of choice. Rest in Peace George, we will all miss you.
