Bessie was born in Exshaw, AB. She moved with her family to Fort Whyte in 1913. On Christmas Day, 1929 Bessie and Sidney were married. In 1939 the family moved to Winnipeg. Bessie was very involved in the Parish of St. Margarets Anglican Church, and most recently the Parish of St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in St. Vital. Bessie loved to take long walks, enjoyed reading, knitting for loved ones and those in need, and had a love for crossword puzzles and baseball games. She was passionately involved with Prayer Quads and Bible study at St. Mary Magdalene Church, as well as Al-Anon. She was devoted to and loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flowers gratefully declined; in lieu donations can be made in Bessies honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre, The Trans Canada Trail, or the Memorial Fund at St. Mary Magdalene. Sincere thanks to the staff of Catherine Place, Carrie and The Palliative Care Unit, Marlene and the yellow team at the Riverview Health Centre. A very special thank you to the "other" Helen. Special thanks to Rev. Canon Bob Webster. Please join family and friends in a celebration of Bessies life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14 at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Rd., Winnipeg. Private family interment to be held at a later date. You touched so many lives; you are loved and will be lovingly remembered. God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The Courage to change the things I can, And the Wisdom to know the difference. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
