WILLIAM GEORGE PEASGOOD It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad on July 8, 2003 at the Carman Memorial Hospital. Dad was loved by his wife Betty of 61 years; and his children, Carol (Raymond) Steppler, George (Janice), Mary Ann Johnston and Janey (Jack) Swanton. Dearly loved Grandpa of Patty and Blair Weerts, Kirstyn and Nikki, Mark and Colleen Steppler, Erick and Kaylee, Lissanne Steppler, Ronnie, Andy and Ebony Johnston, Glen and Morgan, Donna and Paul Karam, Brittany and David, Cathy Johnston, Scott and Kara Oswald, Kaleigh, Jade and Jory, Jodi Peasgood and Derek Schiller. Ross Swanton and Roxann Kaiser, Maureen Swanton and Chris Lemky. Dad was predeceased by his parents, sister Mary and brother Tom, son-in-law Glen Johnston and granddaughter Lisa Steppler. Dad was born in Brandon, MB and started his career with Canada Safeway in 1931. He moved to Carman in 1940 where he met and married Mom in 1941. He served in the Second World War with the RCSC from 1941 to 1945 and then returned to his position at Safeway. He retired in 1980 at the age of 65 but continued to work for Safeway until its closing in 1989, his career spanning 59 years. Dad was truly dedicated to his family, Canada Safeway and his community. We cherish the many things Dad taught us, some of which were: work hard, be honest, dont be late and the customer is always right! Dont forget we love you! Cremation has taken place and at Dads request a private family service will be held. Doyles Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
