GERDA RUEDIGER (nee von Krogh) Suddenly but peacefully, on July 9, 2003, Gerda Ruediger, beloved wife of Sennon (Sam) Ruediger, passed away at Pine Falls Hospital. Gerda Ruediger, wife, mom, Oma and sister, will be lovingly remembered by her husband Sam of 49 years; and her children, Elke Dooley, Ralph (Vanessa), Robert (Monika), and Esther (Christian) Stumpf. Also left to cherish her memory are her nine grandchildren; Michael and Angela Dooley; Tyler Gatehouse; Erich, Stefan, and Kerstin Ruediger; Heidi, Carina, and Bianca Stumpf; and her sisters, Elisabeth and Ursula. She was predeceased by her siblings, Sigrid and Gerhard, and son-in-law Murray Dooley. Gerda was born in Frankfurt a.d. Oder and grew up on a large family estate in Lebus, Germany. She came to Canada in 1952 where she met her husband, Sennon (Sam), in Winnipeg. Mom enjoyed camping, outdoor activities and the cottage, her favourite place to be, where she was close to nature and her garden. Mom enjoyed her family to the fullest. She loved having her family around her, whether it was enjoying meals together, playing games (especially Yahtzee), berry and mushroom picking or working in the garden. A "Celebration of her Life" ceremony will be held in her memory on July 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. in Winnipeg, MB. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and hospital staff at Pine Falls Hospital for the special care they gave Mom during her stay as well as to our special friends Lillian and Lawrence.
