PAUL GANTON Suddenly early Sunday morning, July 13, 2003, Paul passed away at the age of 66 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 46 years, Lauraine; his son Joe; his daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Bob; his precious grand-daughters, Stefanie, Lindsay, and Chelsey; and his sister Evelyn Thorvaldson (Gordon). Paul also leaves to mourn his passing, sisters-in-law, Jean McLeod, Lil Lower, and Gloria McLeod, Mary Lower (George) and Mabel Fingland (Clarence) Uncles, Steini Palsson (Runa), Kris Vigfusson, and George Florence; Aunt Kate Palsson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and good friends. Paul was born August 15, 1936 in Fort Frances, ON. He moved with his family to the Lundar area, where he attended school and spent his "growing up" years. He enlisted in the army (Signalmen Corps) on November 9, 1953, serving three years. Mom and Dad were married on November 24, 1956. At that time, he had begun his career with M.T.S., retiring in November of 1991. Dad was fond of all animals, but especially horses. He was very involved with the Lundar Agricultural Society (horse classes) and enjoyed attending horse shows and rodeos. Since his retirement, Paul expressed his love for horses in his many beautifully detailed carvings. The family wishes to thank the Teulon Ambulance attendants, Teulon-Hunter Memorial Hospital and staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pauls memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., at the Rockwood Centennial Centre, 14 Main St., Teulon, MB. Mackenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
