FREDERICK STAUB Peacefully on July 9, 2003 at home, our father passed away. Fred was born in the town of Togo, SK on January 6, 1922. He was the second oldest of seven siblings. Dad grew up during turbulent times, the Depression and the outbreak of war in Europe. In 1939, Dad volunteered for service in the Canadian Army and served in the 19th Field Regiment, RCA. His service with the 3rd Division took him to England, Normandy, Belgium, Holland and finally Germany where he was severely wounded in late April 1945. He lived and worked in Manitoba as a Conservation Officer and as a carpenter until his retirement. In 1953, Dad married our mother and they were proud parents of four sons and one daughter. Dad was predeceased by his wife (Mary), his brothers, Bill, Albert, Donald and Bob and also by his third son Mark. He is survived by his brother Ted and sisters, Eleanor and Shirley. He is also survived by his sons, Bob (Lynda), Ken (Marianne), Ed (Sandy) and daughter Teresa and seven grandchildren. Fred was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 141 having served on the Executive Board and the sponsoring committee of the Air Cadet 573 Squadron. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave on Wednesday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 HESPELER AT HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151
