CECILIA PEARL GIBSON (TRELEAVEN) September 3, 1909 - July 12, 2003 We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Cecilia Pearl Gibson at the age of 93. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mildred Fierce, Shirley Brolly (Denis), Joan Dudas (John), 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Adam and son-in-laws, Lloyd Adam and Charles Fierce; great-grandson Garth Olson; her mother and father; 12 sisters and brothers, and very special friend Amie. Born on the farm near Reston, MB, she lived there until moving to Saskatchewan and then on to Winnipeg, where she raised her four daughters. Mom worked in Winnipegs largest hotels in the catering department until she became a nurses aide at the Municipal Hospitals retiring in 1974. Her true calling was nursing, as her gentle manner was comforting to all she took care of. Upon retirement, she filled her time with many interests, family and friends. In her later years she became an avid reader. Mom was a survivor and she lived independently until the time of her passing. She was strong in her faith, compassionate, loving, generous and kind. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, July 18 at 2:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Rev. Dr. G.W. Luetkehoelter officiating.
