JUNE SLATOR June 1, 1944 - July 13, 2003 It is with deep sorrow that family and friends acknowledge the passing of June Lenore Slator on July 13, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. June is survived by her loving husband Sandy; her daughter Marnie; son Jordan and daughter-in-law Jacqueline; sister Pat Ardley of Vancouver; two brothers, James of Regina and Kenny and partner Hope of Calgary; sister-in-law Betty of Regina; and brother-in-law Murray of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Allison (Gordon) Block, Helen Slator and Peggy (Bob) Hooper, all of Winnipeg; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly. June was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Marj Lindsay of Winnipeg; her dear sister Marcia Wilson of Winnipeg; and her brother-in-law George Ardley of Vancouver. Family and friends were the cornerstone of Junes life. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend and her feelings and concerns for others knew no bounds. She particularly enjoyed music, either getting together with family or friends at sing-alongs or playing the piano in her own "quiet time". She enjoyed travel, ladies weekends, her scrabble days, getting together with buddies for a game of golf and delighted in the work she was able to do for the NAIT Cruise Benefit over the past few years. June positively touched every person she came in contact with and her influence, spirit and joy of life will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. The Slator family would like to express their appreciation to the many friends who provided such incredible support and assistance throughout her battle with cancer. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff members at the Cross Cancer Institute and the Edmonton General Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their assistance and support over the past few weeks of her journey. A memorial celebration of Junes life will be held Friday, July 18 at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Ave., Edmonton, AB. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made in memory of June, to the Palliative Care Unit of the Edmonton General Hospital, care of Hospice Manager, or to the Cross Cancer Institute. Rest in peace dearest June, we will miss you greatly. To send condolences, visit www.parkmemorial.com Park Memorial Edmonton 780-426-0050 Family Owned Funeral Home, Crematorium, Reception Centre
