WILBERT G. SEWARD
Date of Passing: Jul 13, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILBERT G. SEWARD Wib, aged 87 passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 13, 2003 at his Ridgeville, MB farm home. He is left to mourn his wife Loraine; and three sons, Dennis (Margaret) of Ridgeville, Danny (Lynda) of Winnipeg, and Dale of Fairview, AB. Wib dearly enjoyed his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Denise, DeeAnne, Daniel, Darren, Dana, Derek, Candace Doug, Chism and Justin. One sister Louise of Kelowna, BC survives Wib. His parents and one infant brother predecease him. Besides his family Wib will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives, a favourite pastime was visiting and reminiscing about times gone by. Wib always enjoyed a good "bull" story, of the Hereford variety, of course. Wib was born June 14, 1916 at Ridgeville to Bert and Agnes Seward and spent his life working the family farm and raising Hereford cattle. He married Loraine Spence on October 21, 1940. They lived a wonderful full life at Ridgeville raising their three sons. Wib and Loraine retired from farming in 1975 and moved to their home at 150 Park St. in Emerson. Even though this meant town living, Wibs heart was still on the farm at Ridgeville and he returned there almost daily to ensure Dennis was carrying on the family tradition in the proper manner. The year 2002 made Wib especially proud as the family farm celebrated its 100th birthday and became a Century Family Farm. In 1998 Wib and Loraine sold their house and moved to Oakview Manor. Wib was not meant to live his remaining years in an apartment so he returned to his first love, a farm at Ridgeville. Respecting his wish cremation has taken place. The family is holding a private memorial service and interment at Greenridge Cemetery with Rev. Bob stark officiating. Wiebe Funeral Home, Altona handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerson Volunteer Fire Department, Box 337, Emerson, MB R0A 0L0. "Love is measured, not in time, but in timeless moments."
