Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) SHARPE Peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre, after a long and courageous battle with interstitial fibrosis, Bob passed away at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Agnes; his parents, Robert and Catherine; his brothers, Charlie (Chrissie) and Tom (in infancy) and his sister Margaret Burns (Jock). He will be lovingly remembered by his son Robert (Janice) granddaughters, Erin and Ashley; and son Keith (Linda) niece Catherine (Peter) Merker; brother-in-law Ken Hirst; close and dear friends, Olive and Wally Birrell; and many others. Bob was born in North Bay, ON in 1916. The family returned to Hawick, Scotland and in 1932 he joined the Royal Air Force. He had many experiences in Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, the North West Frontier of India, and as far as Singapore. He was with the British Expeditionary Force in France in 1940, made it back to England and was sent to Canada to help establish the RAF Training Stations. While in Winnipeg, he met and married Agnes Tarro. After the war, they returned to Winnipeg. Bob worked for Trans Canada Air Lines-Air Canada in Winnipeg and Montreal and retired in 1978. He enjoyed his many years with 177 TCA-Air Canada Air Cadet Squadron. Dad had a willingness to help anyone at any time, but his particular devotion was to his family. The family would like to thank the Meals on Wheels program members and volunteers, all the home care staff, the doctors, the nurses and staff at Victoria General Hospital and Riverview Health Centre that helped Dad throughout his illness. Respecting Dads wishes, there will not be a service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or Heart and Stroke Foundation MB, Suite 200, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or a charity of their choice.
