JOHN MICHAEL MARKO December 31, 1909 - July 14, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, John Marko, at St. Adolphe Nursing Home. Johnnie is survived by his wife Anne (nee Starin) son Ronald (Sybille) of Edmonton; grandson Kevin (Keri) great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jaden; grandson Timothy; daughter Elaine of Selkirk; sisters, Pearl Molish and Sophie Tront of Winnipeg; and many nephews and nieces. Dad is predeceased by his dear mother Eva and father Michael; sisters, Annie, Katherine, and Mary; and brothers, Metro and William. Born in Poplar Park, MB, Johnnie spent some time in his youth at Red Lake, ON, skidding logs and threshing at various farms in his home province. He married Anne Starin of Libau on November 3, 1939 and they raised their two children on the family farm. He worked all his life on the homestead in spite of his disability and often shared chores with his brother-in-law Mike. Dad was a kind, patient, and gentle man, always a good provider, who loved to fix things and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery in Poplar Park. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Johnnies memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
