Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTRON P. NYHUS Passed away peacefully on July 16, 2003, at Trinity Centre at the age of 79. Tron was born on September 23, 1923, at Hokksund, Norway. He is survived by his loving family, wife Jean; sister Gerd (Len) of Winnipeg; sons, Dwayne (Leah) of Powell River, Lloyd (Nancy) of Penticton, Glen (Nadine) of Toronto; grandchildren, Caitlin, Brooke, Braeden, Matthew, Karin, Jana (Isaac), Kristin, Andrea; and great-grandson Logan. Tron immigrated to the Peace River area with his family as a young boy. After completing high school in Grand Prairie, he joined the R.C.A.F. and served as a pilot during the Second World War. He graduated from University of Alberta with a medical degree and served with Indian Health Services in Fort Simpson, NT, and Norway House, Manitoba, as well as time in Fort QuAppelle, SK, before setting up private medical practice in Penticton, BC. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1498 Government St., Penticton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Penticton Regional Hospital Medical Foundation, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
