JOHN GROFF ZEEMEL 1941 - 2003 With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend. On Thursday, July 17, 2003, surrounded by his family in his home, Johns courageous battle with cancer came to an end. He will live in the memory of his wife, Joanne, of 37 years; daughters, Pamela and Jennifer (Marco) grandchildren, Lauren, RJ and Mason; mother, Olive Zeemel; siblings, Bob (Sandy), Carol (Jim), Maree and Ed; sister-in-law Connie (Jim) mother-in-law Frances (Bert) many nieces and nephews, as well as his dog Molly. He was predeceased by his father, Albert. He will also be missed by numerous special friends that he made throughout his life. John retired in May of 2002 after 30 years as a pilot with the Manitoba Government Air Ambulance Program. When he wasnt flying or farming, he enjoyed his Tuesday night golf league, or fixing something that didnt work quite to his liking. He always had a story to tell and a laugh that no one could mistake. John lived his life to the fullest and always had some type of project on the go, be it building cars, making his deck bigger and better, or figuring out a new way to wire something (which sometimes ended up in a few singed hairs!). He was a man of many talents and was always ready to help out in any way that he could. He left an impression on everyone he met. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Our family would like to thank Dr. R. Wong and staff at CancerCare St. Boniface, as well as Home and Palliative Care nurses, Agnes, Becky and Jan Marie. Also, a big thanks to his special friends; you all know who you are. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., R3E 0V9 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., R2L 1X3. We love you.
