ROSALINDA OQUIALDA GUEVARA May 31, 1944 - July 20, 2003 On Sunday, July 20, 2003 Rosalinda Oquialda Guevara was called back by Our Father in heaven. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mariano Guevara; two sons, Ronnie Lou and Rainier Maurice; her sister Nelia Oquialda; brother Nick (Theresa) niece Jhana; and nephew Ian Oquialda; her mother-in-law Conchita Guevara; sister-in-law Nenita (Warly) Nicky, Neil and Christiana Tabios; her niece Marianne (Eric) Charisma Del Mundo; her cousins, Samson, Oloya, Monson and Acuisa Families, all from Winnipeg; Guevara Family and Laarni Samson of Calgary; Loreta and Diana Oquialda and numerous relatives in the Philippines. She was predeceased by her parents, Amado and Leoncia; and brother Rolando Oquialda. Rosalinda came to Winnipeg in 1972, worked for Lantry and was a shop steward of the Amalgamated Union. She was an active parishioner of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church and member of the Lord of Pardon, Filipino Parishioners and Legion of Mary. Rosalinda was a very kind, generous, and loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She would literally give the shirt off her back - and give up her last cent even its for a stranger. Lamay will be held at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., on Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23, between 6:00 p.m. and midnight. Prayers will be offered Wednesday, July 23 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 24 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church on Mountain Avenue, with Fr. Diosdado Parenas presiding. Interment will be at the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. Pallbearers will be Roger Valdez, Danny Santos, Fil Walawala, Henry Raymundo, Mariano Corsiga, Carlos Villarin, Tony Sanchez and Jun Vilarde. The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Patel, all the nurses and staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for all the care and help they provided. Thank you to Temmalle Thompson, Levy her homecare assistant, Gordon Walkty, Flor Valdez for organizing the nine-day prayer, members of the Knights of Columbus for coordinating the pallbearers, and to all those who came and called to offer their condolences.
