FRANCISCA NENITA MEJIA It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Francisca Nenita Mejia (Catacutan) on July 21, 2003, at the age of 66 years, with her family and friends by her side at the Health Sciences Centre. Nita is survived by her beloved husband Pat; her son Orlo (Shelley), grandchildren, Justin and Jordan; son Pat Jr. (Gloria), grandchildren, Brooks, Logan and Madison; daughter Irene (Albert), grandchildren, Richie, Rodney and Ryan; son Noel (Sandra), and grandchildren, Emily and Nathan. She is also survived by Janet Colfer, Terri Hilder, and Priscila Eikre of Vancouver, Mely Dela Cruz, Mario Catacutan, and Lynn St. Clair of Kenora, Jose Catacutan, Digna Gatus and Eddie Catacutan of the Philippines. Nita was predeceased by father Juan, mother Priscila and brother Godofredo. Nita Mejia was born on March 9, 1937 in Tarlac, Philippines. She moved to Kenora in 1969 and was joined by her family shortly thereafter. Lola took great pride in her family, especially her grandchildren. She travelled extensively visiting friends and family worldwide, and spending winters in her home in the Philippines. Prayers will be said on Friday, July 25, at Brown Funeral Home, Kenora, ON at 7:30 p.m., with funeral services at Notre Dame Parish on Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m. The Mejia family wishes to say a special thank you to the S.I.C.U. staff at Health Sciences Centre as well as the emergency staff at L.W.D.G.H. We would also like to thank the many family and friends for their support, comfort and care during Nitas stay at the Health Sciences Centre.
