LYLE F. (CHRIS) CHRISTENSEN July 29, 1946 - July 22, 2003 It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Chris. Chris is survived by his lifemate Eleanor; his daughter Danielle (mom Johanna and special friend Bob) his stepsons, Christian and Derek (mom Lana) sister Arlene Reid (husband Jim) and brother Bill. Also his nieces and nephews, Carrie, Kelly and Patrick Smith (wife Cheryl), Rhonda and Charles Reid, Darrell and Tyler Christensen; many great nieces and nephews and, of course, his best pals Twyla and Penny. Coming from a large family there are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and in particular his uncle Ron (wife Iris) who was like a big brother to Chris. Chris was predeceased by his father Lyle and his mother Alyce. Chris was a devoted father and family man who always put his familys needs first, and gave generously of himself. He had many lifelong friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to others and everyone he met along the path of his life will remember him with fondness and respect. Chris had many interests, stamp collecting, boating, fishing, and had a great love of animals, particularly horses. Chris was an excellent cook (an inheritance from his mother) and many of us who knew him well can attest to the great feasts we have had at his table. He had a great sense of humour and was always good for a joke and a laugh. For many years Chris was an active member of the Masons, and the Shriners (Motorcycle Unit, Oriental Band and the Arabian Horse Guard). Over the course of his life Chris had various careers, and excelled at them all, most notably in Real Estate and Auto Sales Management, and currently as long-distance transport operator with Reimer Express Lines. During his years in real estate he was Vice-President of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board for a term and was involved in teaching the Real Estate Course. In all these endeavours Chris was 100% professional and 100% gentleman. Chris was a big guy with a big heart and there will be an empty space in many of our lives at his passing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Chriss name to The Daniel Lee Dorward Compassionate Fund for Sick Kids, Health Sciences Centre Account No. T087, Suite 263, 4A-3421 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 2C9. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Peters Anglican Church, 755 Elm St., the Venerable Reverend Phil Barnett presiding. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
