Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIRGINIA (MARIE) MAGNUSSON Peacefully, after a short illness, with her daughters by her side, Virginia "Marie" Magnusson passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 in Brandon. Marie was born February 26, 1936 at Langruth, MB, the youngest child of 14 children born to Robert and Isabella Gray. She attended Langruth School until she left home to move to Winnipeg. While there, she met her life companion, Telford "Roy" Magnusson, whom she married on March 19, 1955. They resided in Winnipeg. Together, they raised three children. Marie worked for MTS and was proud of the work she did as a telephone operator and shift supervisor. Marie and Roy acquired a cabin near Beausejour where they enjoyed friends and good times so much that they moved there permanently. Marie enjoyed cooking, her flowers, music and a good joke. She was an active member of the Beausejour Legion Womens Auxiliary. She was ready to lend a helping hand and her home was always open to family and friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by parents, Robert and Isabella Gray; husband Roy; brothers, Billy, Geordie, Andrew, Johnny, Norman and sisters; Lucy, Janet, Dorothy, Irene, Pearl and Marjorie. She is survived by daughters, Katherine (Keith) Cleaver; Brenda (Bill) Greschuk and grandson Ted; son John (Loretta) Magnusson and granddaughter Shaylyn Magnusson; Terra-Lee (Bill) Campbell; Jason Franklin; nephew Alan (Linda) Anderson, Lisa Bartel, Dean Anderson; sisters, Anna Arksey, Isabelle Thompson, Chrissy Gray and numerous nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, MB with Pastor John Roffel officiating. If friends so desire a memorial tribute may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3, in appreciation for the care, compassion and dignity that Mom received in her final days.
