VERNON LLOYD ATKINS On Friday, July 25, 2003 at his residence, Vern Atkins, aged 69 years of Selkirk, MB passed away. He will be sadly missed by his children, Timothy, Laurie, Vaughn (Sandra), Runa (Andre), Jennifer (Glen) and their mother Shirley. He is also leaves numerous grand-children, his brother Bill; sister June, brother-in-law Harold and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Vern was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Runa, his sister Eleanor, brother-in-law Rod and sister-in-law Florence. Vern was born on September 14, 1933 in Selkirk. He was a bus driver for Greyhound for 31 years, retiring in 1993. Some of his interests were horse racing, curling, hunting and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral services was held on Wednesday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. A viewing was held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Verns memory can be made to a charity of choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
