Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANE HILDA DUPUIS November 23, 1936 - July 26, 2003 (Change in Date and Time of Service) After a courageous fight, it is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our precious wife, mother and grandma on July 26, 2003 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of Charles, cherished mother of Kathleen (Drew Cook), Darleen, Leo (Crystal), Suzanne (Luy Trinh) and Barbara-Ann (Cory Sumner) loving grandmother of Shaun, Joey, Shannon, Damien and Jenna; treasured daughter of George and Irene; dear sister of Lucien (Denyse), John, Rene (Suzanne), Richard, Lucille (Keith Longchamps), Jeannette (Paul Landry), Helene (Richard Laurier) and Lola; and numerous nieces and nephews; caring foster parent of Nick and Aris. Diane met and fell in love with her best friend in Ottawa. Together they took their family in search of a better life to Toronto, Calgary and finally decided Winnipeg was the right place to raise their family. Diane loved to be organized, she would spend hours making her lists, working on her finances and organizing her family. She loved to laugh and could always be found with a smile on her face. She loved her grandchildren and children in general, so much so that when her own kids left the nest she opened her home and heart to help care for several foster children who needed a loving home. Special thanks to Dr. Casey Woo and the staff at Victoria General Hospital and Riverview 3E for their caring hands. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Her smile warmed us, Her care guided us, Her selflessness led us, Her patience taught us, But most of all her love engulfed us. With the wings of an Angel, She walks in beauty, To the arms of God, And assumes her place. No pain can hurt her, No fear she feels, For the Love of God, Will hold her near. We Love and Miss You. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM 220 HESPELER @ HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151

When I was much younger, I commited my first and last theft. Aunt Diane lived with her parents on Stewart Street in Ottawa. My parents Lucille (Diane's sister) and Keith Longchamps were visiting one summer in the 60's. Aunt Diane would come home from work and place her change into a savings jar. I found the jar with a lot of change in. I figured that there was so much change in the jar that she wouldn't miss any. I took some a few nickels and dimes over a couple of days and went to the corner store to buy candy. Well, Aunt Diane figured out that some change was missing quickly. Once she informed my parents, I was scolded and punished. I was so ashamed of my actions and to apologize directly to Aunt Diane. That story has never my mind as I reminded myself especially when I walked by the store and the home my grandparents (George and Irene Longpre) for 30 years. To her family (my cousins), I am sorry that I was not aware earlier about her passing. May She rest in peace and her memory be a blessing. - Posted by: Daniel Longchamps (Nephew) on: Sep 08, 2024
