Born: Sep 13, 1930
Date of Passing: Jul 28, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA MARGARET REMPEL (nee REIMER) September 13, 1930 - July 28, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Norma Margaret Rempel of Winnipeg, MB at the Calgary Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. Left to cherish her memory are husband of 53 years, Arthur; her daughters, Diane (Dennis) Hicks of Winnipeg, Kathy (Doug) Quiring of Dalmeny, SK, Irene (Dave) Klassen of Winnipeg; and her sons, Ken (Lisa) Rempel of Winnipeg, and Donald (Andrea Furness) Rempel of Edmonton, AB. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, Mark, Shannon, Shawn, Leanne, Sarah, Jolene, Lauren, Lesley, Lisa and Chelsea. Norma was predeceased by her infant son Douglas Arthur Rempel, in 1951. Norma was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 13, 1930. She was eagerly and lovingly adopted into the home of her precious parents, Abraham and Margaret Reimer. They lived in Winnipeg. Her father passed away when Norma was a young child of 5 years old. Later her mother remarried to Jacob Epp, which brought her two siblings, brother George and sister Madeline, and later brother Jake. This union moved the family to Glenlea, MB and later to Steinbach, MB. She was predeceased by George in 1993 and Madeline in 2001. Norma was a devoted wife and mother who put her family first and gave generously of herself. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she always wanted to know what was happening in their lives. She had many lifelong friends and continued to her passing, making new friendships, lending a hand and embracing the people she met along the path of life. Norma was a strong believer in her Heavenly Father and we take comfort knowing that she now resides with Him in Heaven. She has spent all her adult life serving in the church in many capacities, including various womens groups and the food committee catering for many special events. Norma experienced compassionate care at the Calgary Foothills Hospital and we are very grateful for their tenderness towards her. Viewing will take place on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 1420 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Donations may be made in Normas memory to The Gideons International In Canada, P.O. Box 3619, 501 Imperial Rd. N, Guelph, ON N1H 7A2; or Camp Arnes, 1151 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R2G 1L5. Your life was love and labour Your love for your family true No length of time can dim the past of love and memories of you. God has His arms around you and we see your tender face as youre lifted into Heaven in His loving warm embrace. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson - North of McIvor - 338-0331
