Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDARRYL ALLAN WATSON The angels called Darryl to his eternal home on August 1, 2003, at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB. He resisted their call. He had so many things he wanted to do with the true love of his life, his son, Nicholas. They shared a deep and loving bond. This saw them through visits to CancerCare Manitoba, hospitalization, lots of hugs and kisses and precious time together. Darryls very existence, his heart and soul, and every waking moment centred around his son. High upon the heavens shines a star, "Darryl", brighter than all the rest - there to shine upon and guide Nicholas. He will be forever cherished and missed by his son, his grandfather Albert Watson, parents, Ted and Linda; siblings, Patricia (Robby), Cheryl (Mike), Jason and Pam; niece Halli; nephews, Bryce and Jared; aunts, Christine and Linda and numerous cousins and close friends. Darryl was born on September 19, 1975 at the Misericordia Hospital. He was educated and raised in Eriksdale. No matter where he was, he considered this to be home. Darryl tried his hand at a variety of things, but he truly enjoyed long distance trucking. Fellow operators bore true testimony of his driving skills and the pride he felt in a job well done. Prior to his illness, Darryl intended to get involved in farming. His love of all kinds of music was evident in the pure joy emanating from him while he sang to those in his company. "Lets play tunes, Daddy," for Nick, too, echoed his fathers interests. Even as a small child Darryl loved the outdoors. Irregardless of the activity, be it working, fishing, hunting or skating, simply being outdoors, was all it took to make him happy. It was for this reason that he found hospitalization to be so incredibly long. This unconditional love for his son and family brought Darryl contentment, happiness and peace. It renewed his faith in the joy of living. He was an intensely strong, loving and courageous young man whose unwavering inner strength drew many to him. His keen sense of humour, the mischievous sparkle in his eye and an ever infectious laugh will always be remembered. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, (particularly Dr. Morel Rubinger) and staff at CancerCare Manitoba and GD-6 for their care and compassion. While in Eriksdale, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Johann Tiedt. Darryl admired your honesty, compassion, same sense of humour and that mischievous glint in your eye. We will never forget the care, compassion and love we felt by all of the staff. You truly gave of yourselves. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Darryl, to a trust fund for Nicholas at the Eriksdale Credit Union or to the E. M. Crowe Memorial Guild (in care of Irene Sigurdson) towards a blanket warmer for future patients to enjoy. A celebration of Darryls life will be held at the Eriksdale Recreation Centre at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6 with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Pallbearers will be Diego Graca, Robert Willetts, Brian Nash, Elliot Simonson, Jamie Johnson, Graham Price and Rodi Chuhai. Honorary pallbearers to be those in attendance. He will be interred at Scotch Bay All Saints Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Rec Centre. Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Homes, Ltd. Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072
