ALFRED ARNAL Peacefully, with his family and friends by his side, Alfred passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 77 years. Alfred is survived and will be missed deeply by his wife and best friend Carol Arnal (nee Roche) of 20 years of marriage and her children, Linda Stubinski (Darrell Lott) and Steven Stubinski (Dawn). He leaves behind 14 siblings and their families, Gertrude Obee, Helene Piche, Beatrice Piche, Lillianne Beaudry, Florence Tilt (Bill), Leo Arnal (Stella), Irene Kuhl, Rita Albert (Camil), Louis Arnal (Melanie), Vincent Arnal (Gertrude), Rene Arnal (Pat), Lorraine Tinckam, Jules Arnal (Gladys), Dick Arnal (Claire) and brother-in-law Paul Black. Al will also be remembered by his father-in-law Art Roche; and brother and sister-in-law Gary and Ruth Roche; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Denise Marinoff and Clara Black; brothers-in-law, Elmer Obee, Roger Piche, Bruno Piche, Maurice Beaudry, Bruno Kuhl and Mervyn Tinckam; and mother-in-law Lorraine Roche. He was born in Fannystelle, MB on September 5, 1925. Al was one of 17 children born to Bertha (Besse) and Almir Arnal. Fondly known as "Alf", "Pataud" or "Frenchie" he operated the family business, Arnals Transfer, for 21 years. Al moved to Winnipeg in 1965 and became a dedicated and respected employee of Mars Marine, J. Werier and Co. and Gestetner Incorporated. Al enjoyed being with people and this was reflected through the many years of volunteer work at St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, the Army Navy Assiniboia Unit 283 and the numerous friendships cultivated in the Courts of St. James. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. Our family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, acts of kindness and thoughts that have been expressed at this difficult time. We would also like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and other doctors who saw to Als needs, all the nursing and support staff on the 4th floor, CancerCare, SDC and Palliative Care in the Grace Hospital as well as Dr. W.C. Schellenberg and Home Care for their service when we were in need, they answered our call. If friends so desire, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Alfreds memory may be made to Hospice Care, Grace General Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
