MARGARET E. MCLEAN With sadness, we announce the passing of our aunt, great-aunt, sister and friend, Margaret McLean on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Middlechurch Care Home at the age of 83. Auntie Marg will be lovingly remembered by her niece Marilyn (Gene) and her grand-nephews, John and Michael. She is also survived by her cousins and families in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Florida, Scotland and many friends worldwide. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, John and Elizabeth; her brother John S. McLean; her sister-in-law Margaret (Wood) her sister-in-law Marnie (Hall) her sister Christina; her nephew Douglas; and her grand-grand-nephew Caelim. Auntie Marg was born and raised in Elmwood. She was a lifelong, devoted member of Gordon King Memorial United Church. She travelled far and wide but her favourite place was her cottage at Victoria Beach and times spent with family and friends. Her last trip was in 1997 to her beloved Scotland. She played many card games and loved her scrabble tournaments, always educating the rest of us with new words. Her skills at knitting and crocheting have been enjoyed by all of us. John and Michael were never without a sweater. We will miss her Christmas pudding and the best shortbread anywhere. We sincerely thank the staff and volunteers at Middlechurch Care Home and the wonderful care she received from the staff on B1. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson, North of McIvor with Pastor Troy van Ginkel officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, 280 Balderstone Rd. Winnipeg, MB R3C 2E5.
