VERNON ERIC BITTNER April 30, 1923 - July 31, 2003 Peacefully with his family by his side Vernon Eric Bittner passed to our Lords hands after a courageous battle for his life. Vernon is survived by his wife of 59 years Kathrine; his son Kerry (Sandy) son-in-law Trevor Daman; grandchildren, Kurt Bittner, Clay Bittner (Stacey), Krista Schaan (Craig), Michael Daman and great-grandchildren, Brayden Schaan and Cameron Bittner. He was predeceased by his daughter Joni Daman in 1999. Vernon had a long and varied career starting with Grey Goose Bus Lines and ending with Canada Post. He was a strong believer in family and loved them all dearly. We will miss him immensely but not as much as Mom, who during his struggle for life kept insisting she wanted to see those great blue eyes just one more time. Our thanks go to the loving care provided by the staff of 6A at St. Boniface Hospital. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd. Private family urn placement will take place in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
