Boyd, 79, of 1078A Creeks Cross Rd., Kohler, went home to eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at St. Nicholas Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 7, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, the son of the late William James and Bessie (Styles) Boyd. Hugh graduated from Daniel McIntyre High School in 1941 and attended the University of Manitoba and the American Education Complex in Killeen/Copperas Cove, TX. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, North Atlantic Squadron, during the Second World War from 1941 to 1945. On April 2, 1949, Hugh married Shirley M. McIntosh in West Allis. Hugh was a laboratory technician for Delta Oil Company in Milwaukee for 17 years until his retirement in 1981. Hugh was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Sheboygan Falls, WI where he was a greeter and a member of the Christian Mens organization. He was also a Boy Scout leader. Hugh played semi-professional Canadian hockey and bicycle racing. He was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed family camping, lacrosse, bowling, soccer, and golf. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley; three daughters, Cynthia (Phillip) Lodde of Sheboygan Falls, Audrey Schmeling of Sheboygan, and Jennifer (Jerry) Radshlag of Oostburg; five sons, Thomas (Marcia) of Thiensville, Timothy of Belgium, John (Christy) of Neosho, Stephen (Jan) of Kohler, and Hugh Joel (Jackie) Boyd of Kohler; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three half-brothers. Funeral service for Hugh will be held on Sunday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m. at First Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Lowell Snow officiating. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, August 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, August 3, at church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. A memorial fund will be established in his name.
