GEORGE CHARLES (MAJOR, Retired) Born April 1, 1919 in Camper, MB. The eldest son of Max and Nettie Chikousky, he passed away July 19, 2003 in Sannichton, BC. He was predeceased by wife Phyllis; brother Bill and sister Helen. He will be sadly missed by daughter Barbara (Tony) grandsons, Terry (Kim) and Jamie (Leanne) great-grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, Joshua, Emma and Makayla. Also survived by brothers, Walter and Roy; sister Violet and their families. George joined the Canadian Army in 1939 and married Phyllis Bolger in 1941 in St. Johns, NF. Throughout his military career, George served at many posts across Canada, Europe and the Middle East. He retired as a Major from the RCEME Corps in 1973 and moved to Victoria, BC. A Service of Remembrance was held in Victoria on Saturday, July 26. Donations may be made to a Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic.
