LENA LOVATT June 1915 - July 2003 On July 27, 2003, Lena peacefully passed away at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. Lena was born near Souris, MB and later moved to Brandon where she attended the Wheat City Business College. She worked for the Department of National Defence at No. 12 S.F.T.S Brandon, during the Second World War. Following which she moved to Winnipeg and was employed by the Manitoba Civil Service and the Manitoba Pool Elevators, except for a three year interval when she took a working vacation in Halifax and London, England. Lena was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Dolly Lovatt; sisters, Stella Brown, Edna Brockett; and also a niece Georgina Kettles. She is survived by one brother John Lovatt, Calgary, AB; and sister Frances Lovatt, Winnipeg; also nieces, Marjorie LePage, Dallas, TX, Marlene Metzler (Bill), Winnipeg, Linda Smith (Ken), Mississauga, ON, Lorraine Elton, Australia, Stacia Larson, Calgary, Glenda Templeton (Keith), Olympia, WA; nephews, Don Brockett, Detroit, MI and Marvin Brown, Montana. Also several grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews, and many cousins. In accordance with Lenas wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Lenas memory to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 3M3 or the Costume Museum of Canada, Box 38, Dugald, MB R0E 0K0.
