WINIFRED MAUDE WHARTON (nee TAYLOR) 1909 - 2003 Passed away peacefully in Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB on Thursday, July 31, surrounded by her family. Winnie was predeceased by her husband Wilfred in 1993; and brother-in-law Willard Frakes of Kansas. She is survived by her sister Hilda of Baxter Springs, Kansas. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Pat (Ken) of Calgary; Valerie (John) of Kamloops; and sons, Ron (Lynn) of Calgary and Mike (Gayle) of Winnipeg. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jeff (Mickey), Kelly (Darren), Andrew (Cheryl), Doug (Kathryn), Linda (Tim), Jenn, Chris and seven great-grandchildren. Winnie was in sales all her working life, ranging from salesperson at Eatons to buyer at Holt Renfrew. In her younger years, she was active in St. Judes Anglican Church in Winnipeg. Her last six weeks were spent at her favourite spot, the cottage at Winnipeg Beach with her special friend, Marie Andrews. A special thanks to Sandy and staff at the Johnson Memorial Hospital for their loving care during Moms illness. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street).
