LEO BRUNEAU It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, Leo Bruneau, who passed away at home on August 2, 2003 at the age of 82. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Germaine Bruneau; his children, Doris (Jim) Salt, Denis (Gloria), Rick (Cheryl) grandchildren, Lynne (Frank), Sean, Michael, Nicholas, Joel; and great-grandson, Donovan. Also left to mourn his passing are mother-in-law Clotilde Bruneau; brothers, Ephrem, Georges (Celima) sisters, Jeannine Fillion, Yvette (Armand) St. Godard, Lorraine (Harvey) Foss, Anne-Marie (Richard) Roy, Rose-Marie (Roger) Bremault; and sister-in-law Irene Bruneau; as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ludger and Angeline; and his brother Aime. Dad was born and raised in St. Jean Baptiste and spent his early years on the family farm. He was a decorated Second World War Veteran. Dad married his soul mate, Germaine (Fontaine) in 1946 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. They were a devoted couple and shared many joys and blessings throughout their lives, including travelling extensively around the world. Dad worked for 17 years at Eatons before starting his career as a machinist at Continental Can, where he retired at the age of 60. He loved his retirement years and spent the first nine summers at their place in Lac du Bonnet and winters down South. Dad was a master fisherman, avid curler, and could out peg anyone at crib. He loved the outdoors and never missed planting his vegetable garden. He loved watching sports, especially "the Habs". Even though he hated our winters, Dad was Joels "No. 1" hockey fan, and never liked to miss a game. Family was most important to Dad, and he was a deeply religious man. He had a great sense of humour and a heart of gold. To know him was to love him. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Paroisse du Precieux Sang, 200 Kenny St. with labbe Isaie Blanchette officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Honorary pallbearer Joel Bruneau. His family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kevin Coates, Dr. George Louridas, Dr. Kieran OKeeffe, and nurse, Cheryl at the St. Boniface Hospital. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
