MELVIN PEECH It is with great sorrow, the family announces the death of Melvin Peech. With his family at his side, Melvin ended his suffering and went to Paradise on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Melvin was born in Rossburn, MB on May 23, 1948, the 13th child of Mike and Winnie Peech of Oakburn, MB. On November 9, 1968, Melvin married Hazel Deck. They raised their four children, Dean (Sharon) Peech, Denise Peech (Dennis Kozakevich Jr.), Dion and Wayne all now residing in Brandon. Melvin lived and worked in Brandon in the janitorial business for 33 years with Bee Clean Janitorial Co. Ltd. He also built and operated the Giant Car/Truck Wash with his family. His main concern was for his family and his grandchildren, Miceala, Daylan Peech of Brandon, Katherine Humphreys of Winnipeg and Eryk Blore of Winnipeg. He always worried about the well being of others, never worried about himself. Melvin had a heart of gold, always helping someone out. Besides his children and grandchildren Melvin also leaves sisters and brothers, Jean (Ed) Wowyrk of Brandon, Teenie Nykoliation of Shoal Lake, Mary (Ed) Bart of Shoal Lake, Elsie (Zane) Luhowy of Rossburn, Sylvia (Bernie) Zydrill of Winnipeg, Doreen (Gerald) Marko of Anola, Anne (Peter) Manulak of Winnipeg, Larry (Barb) of West St. Paul, Bill (Stella) of Mississauga, ON, Harry Peech of Kelowna, BC, Stephie (Andy) Borys of Surrey, BC, and a sister Helen (Bob) Wark of Victoria, BC. There are many nieces and nephews. Melvin was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Winnie; by a sister Dora and a brother John. Prayers will be said at Memories Chapel, 330-18th St. N. on Thursday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Volodymyrs Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Oakburn on Friday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m. The Very Rev. Mikolaj Derewianka will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Carter, Eugene Trupish, Nick Sawchuk, Matt Peech and Rudy Nychuk. Active pallbearers will be Bob Day, Brian Deck, Larry Wowryk, Shawn Peech, Ryan Zdrill and Dennis Kozakevich Jr. Interment will follow in the Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Melvin may be made to Cancer Research, Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
