DONNA LOIS SMYTH (YEO) February 5, 1933 - August 2, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother. After a courageous battle, Donna succumbed to complications in the aftermath of acute appendicitis. Donna was surrounded and comforted by her husband Stan, daughter Debbie (Horst), son Danny (Cynthia), and son Stan (Vicki). She is cherished by granddaughters, Jesilyn, Megan and Haley; and grandsons, Travis, Mickey, Austen and William. She is also fondly remembered by her extended family and friends in Winnipeg, across the country, and abroad. Donna was predeceased by her mother Maude, father Lenus, brothers, Jack and Bruce; and sister Loreen. Donna was born and raised in Winnipeg where she attended Lord Selkirk School. After graduation, she began work for the Lake of the Woods Milling Company. During this time she met and married Stan, soon after starting a family together. After her children matured, she re-entered the work force holding positions at the Eatons Mail Order, and later as a data entry typist at Air Canada and M.H.O. She retired in 1992. Tragedy befell her when she suffered a major stroke later in 1992. She battled back; and with the unselfish devotion of her husband, she enjoyed 11 more years at home with her family. Our thanks to Dr. Vacjner, and the entire staff at the Concordia I.C.U. for their efforts and compassion during Donnas time of need. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., on Thursday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donna would prefer that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of your choice. Arrangements Entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
