AGNES HANSEN Agnes Hansen (Brown), 89, went home to eternal life to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Monday, August 4, 2003. Mom will be greatly missed by sons, Bob (Barbara), and Charlie (Joan) daughter Diana (Wayne) grandchildren, Lisa, Tammy, Charlynn, David, Ron, Richard and Corey; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Quinton, Michael, Jesse, Kenneth, Ciara, James; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1997; and all her brothers and sisters. Mom was born in Kilmarnoch, Scotland and came to Canada in 1921. Her family settled in Taylorton, SK and later moved to Spearhill, MB. Mom grew up with a musical background. Her father was an accomplished musician who taught all members of the family to play instruments and sing. Mom was part of the family band during the Depression and played in the surrounding areas. She later met and married Charles and moved to Hamilton, ON where he enlisted in the Army with the R.H.L.I. before the Second World War. Mom did her part by serving with the CDN Womens Auxiliary at home. They moved to Winnipeg in 1947 and Mom ran a boarding house for a while. In later years, many happy times were spent at the family cottage. Moms pleasure was spending time with our family. Her greatest joy was pulling out the banjo, mandolin or harmonica and joining her sons on fiddle and guitar in a song. With a sparkle in her eye, she just loved to sing and yodel all the songs she knew so well. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Hospice Fund, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
