SESSELJA (SETTA) EGGERTSON It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sesselja Eggertson on June 3, 2003 at Pouce Coupe, BC. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Margaret (Bob) Munroe of Warren, MB, Eggert (Margie) Eggertson of Langley, BC, Ian (Myrna) Eggertson of Dawson Creek, BC and Bernice (Doug) Hannam of Errington, BC. Setta was Amma to Jamie, Ian (Colleen), Peggy Munroe; Carey (Erin) Eggertson, Kris (Kelly) Eggertson; Ian Eggertson Jr. (Anastacia Parks), Ingrid (Jeff) Fisher, Kristine Eggertson (Quentin Reschny) Kevin and Leigh Hannam. Great-grandmother to Brooke, Rykkel, Kirsten, Cameron, Ashley, Rachel, Josh and Jeremy. Setta was predeceased by her loving husband Dave in 1994, she was also predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Gudmundson) Halldorson and Halldor Halldorson, stepfather Olafur Magnuson, her brother Freeman (Grace) Halldorson, sisters, Helga (Oscar) Sveistrup, Gunna (John) Johnson, Bjorg (Rolf) Forseng, Anna (Pete) Davidson. She is survived by one sister Soffia (Ken) Routledge of Kelowna, BC and brother-in-law Pete Davidson and many nieces and nephews and relatives. Setta was born October 30, 1913 in Westbourne, MB moving with the family as a young child to Hayland, MB, an Icelandic community on the east side of Lake Manitoba. Later after her marriage to Dave, living and working on the family farm until 1957 when the family left their prairie roots to reside in Surrey, BC. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Siglunes Community Hall, Vogar, MB. Interment to follow at the Vogar Cemetery.
