ALEXANDER SAMUEL ESCHUK Surrounded by his family, Alex Eschuk passed away peacefully at the Holy Family Home on August 5, 2003. He is survived by his wife Ann (Nykoluk) children, Greg (Cathy), Gloria Gelmych (Ron Bell), Stephen (Nicole Carriere) stepchildren, Sylvester (Lucy) Nykoluk, Sylvia (Ernie) Smelski, Stephanie (Ray) Hadway, Steven (Debbie) Nykoluk; grandchildren, Andrea (David) Dean, Alan Eschuk, Jeff (Shauna) Gelmych, Lindsey Bell; stepgrandchildren, Sylvester and Anna Nykoluk, Mark (Candy) Hadway, Lisa and Amanda Hadway, Travis Smelski, Brendan, Derrick and Jared Nykoluk; brother Leonard "Roy" Eschuk; sister Nell Kosolowski, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Paul and Eva Eschuk; first wife Anne; brother Peter; sister-in-law Vickie; brother-in-law Ed Kosolowski. Alex was born in the Ukraine and immigrated to western Canada with his parents and siblings at a young age. After military service he married Anne (Coma) and started a family and a private business (Central Maintenance). Alex was an active member of the Khartum Temple Skooters, the Masons and the Ukrainian Canadian Veteran Legion #141. Alex took great delight in spending time with his family, friends and neighbours and will be sorely missed by all. Prayers will be on Thursday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with a funeral service on Friday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St., with Rev. Fr. A. Harkavy officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alexs memory to the Canadian Diabetes Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
