Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GODELIVA SIMOENS (nee DELBAERE) Peacefully on August 7, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, Mary Simoens passed away to join her husband Albert who predeceased her in 1996. Mom leaves to mourn her passing her three children, Dennis (Bernice), Joan Coombes (Barry) and Ron (Irene) and her sisters, Adrienne Davis and Julia Sergeant. She also leaves seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jeffrey Coombes and his brother David, as well as her brother Archie Delbaere and also her sister Bertha in Belgium. Mom was born in Bisseghem, Belgium, on November 3, 1910. She immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1919, and settled in St. Boniface where she resided for the rest of her life. In 1930 she married Albert Simoens, and resided in Norwood until 1967 when they moved to Windsor Park, then to Appleton Estates. After dads passing, mom moved to Catherine Place in Norwood where she made many friends among the residents and staff, including special friend David Woolley. Heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Fred Olds at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd, on Monday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
