ARMAND (ARNIE) DUSEIGNE Peacefully at home on Thursday, August 7, 2003, Arnie, surrounded by his loving family, left this world to be welcomed into the arms of Jesus. Arnie was born August 16, 1939 in St. Boniface, MB. At the age of 3 his family moved to the Homebrook (St. Martin) area. In 1960 he married Sylvia Klypak in Ethelbert, MB. They then went on to raising 3 loving children in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father, Pierre, in 1981; and his mother, Georgiana, in 1985. To cherish his memory, Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sylvia; his three children, son Brett (Jennifer), granddaughter Nicole; son Dale of Dryden, ON; daughter Donna (Eric) and granddaughters Sarah and Dominique of Montreal. He is also survived by his siblings Renee (Don) Holmes of Sardis, BC, Albert of St. Martin, Rolande Fenning of Hanna, AB, Roger (Pat) of Winnipeg and Denis (Reta) of Dryden, ON; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. For 37 years Arnie was employed by Manitoba Hydro where he made many life long friendships. Arnie was well known in the music entertainment world, especially in the Interlake and Dauphin areas. His beautiful singing voice will be fondly remembered by many a bride and groom and their families whose weddings and anniversaries he performed at. Also dear to his heart, he enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting. Arnie was loved by all. He touched many hearts and lives with his warm smile and gentle demeanour. The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Kathy Kyryluk and staff at CancerCare, St. Boniface Hospital, nursing staff of 5A and 5E, the Palliative Care Program of St. Boniface Hospital, especially nurses Lynn, Doris, Kris and all the other personal care givers (you know who you are!) and the case coordinators at HomeCare. Special thanks to Dr. B. Gorski, Dr. Gary Schroeder, Fr. Sean Cahill and Fr. Wayne Morrisey for their kindness and compassion. A heartfelt thanks to the family, friends and neighbours for their love and support during this difficult year. Thank you all so very much! Prayers for Arnie will be said on Sunday, August 10, 2003 at 8:30 p.m. at St. Peters Roman Catholic, 748 Keewatin, with Fr. Wayne Morrisey presiding. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Peters Church with reception to follow. At Arnies request, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place following the reception. In keeping with Arnies wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nicole Duseigne Education Fund, c/o Sylvia Duseigne, or the charity of your choice. Arnie, you are the love of my life.
