JOHN LEONHARDT Peacefully at the age of 79 on July 16, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Laura (Halick). Devoted father of Daniel, Debra (Daniel Evans) and Duane (Louise). Very special grandfather of Craig (Melanie), Julia (Jason Curcio), Christine, Stephanie, Katherine Evans; and great-grandfather of Nolan and Brooklyn Curcio. John is survived by his loving sister Edith Wagner, and younger brother Emil (Jocelyn). John will be sadly missed by Della and Herbert Dufour, Evelyn Halick, Phyllis and Albert Shipman, Frances and Kenneth Emslie, Adam and Sonia Halick and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. John served with the RCAF during the Second World War, followed by a 32 year career with Air Canada and a long, enjoyable retirement. Funeral services were held for John in Montreal where he has resided for the past 33 years. The family is grateful for the exceptional medical care John received in Montreal and for the prayers and support of family and friends everywhere. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at the Western Canada Aviation Museum, 958 Ferry Rd. at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 11.
