Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER FRASER GOWAN July 24, 2003 Fraser Gowan, loving partner of Virginia, and beloved brother of Pat and Phyllis (Geoff), passed away at St. Boniface Palliative Care, of leukemia. Predeceased by his father Walter Gowan in 1987 and mother Elsie Gowan in 2001. A celebration of Frasers life was held at St. Johns Cemetery, August 2, with close friends and family attending. Interment followed. Born November 16, 1953, Fraser grew up in Norwood. He left Winnipeg in his early twenties, going to Jasper working with the Canadian National Railway, where he attained his conductors status. He returned to Winnipeg and was working towards his power engineering certificate. Fraser had a keen love of the outdoors and spent many enjoyable hours at the family cottage at Victoria Beach. He loved to fish and often spoke of hiking while living in the mountains. Fraser had a kind and gentle soul and was a sensitive and caring man. He never lost his special sense of humour and showed great strength and courage in facing his final battle. He will be sorely missed. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. My love forever, Virginia
