IDA BLANKSTEIN On Friday, August 8, 2003 Ida Blankstein (Marks), wife of the late Isaac Wolfe Blankstein, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface General Hospital. Ida would have been 95 on October 28, 2003. She was born in Calgary, AB and cherished the memories of her childhood there with her nine brothers and sisters. With her beloved Wolfe, Ida moved to Winnipeg in 1944 where she raised her two children with unwavering support and love. Ida is survived by her youngest sister Ann (Anky) Smith. She leaves behind her loving son Murray and his wife Ellen; loving daughter Ellen and her husband Daniel Hamburg. She will be remembered by her grandchildren, Jonathon Hamburg and his wife Lynn Hierlihy, Lauren Blankstein and her husband Doron Betel, Lisa Weidman and her husband Richard, and Jeremy Blankstein. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin, Leah, David and Jacob. Ida also leaves behind her sister-in-law Eva Dolgin, brother-in-law Fred (Ingy) Blankstein and his wife Pearl, brother-in-law Morley Blankstein and his wife Marjorie, sister-in-law Anita Marks, sister-in-law Marilyn Marks, and many caring nieces and nephews. Her final years were brightened and eased by her devoted caregiver Hilda Habig. Many thanks also to Gertrude Ablao for her kindness and care.
