JUDY LYNN LOLEIT Well, it has happened, Ive moved on to the promised life with God at 7:27 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2003. Uve, Karen and Pastor Ed Mitchler were at my bedside. My biggest regret is I know how much my husband Uve ("Tig") misses me. Time will heal the hurt till were together again. We have no children and the love and friendship between us was awesome. My proudest moment was when we were married on November 25, of 1989. I didnt want to be remembered by simply a dash ( - ) between two dates on my gravestone. That little dash represents my life - what happened during my living years. I didnt want to be another one of those people whose life was summed up as only a dash ( - ). So when you come to visit me, you will know what my life was about and not just see it as that little dash ( - ) between two dates. The new address for my earthly remains is Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens - Prayer Section - Lot # 221A - 4000 Portage Ave. - Winnipeg, Manitoba. (Cremation and interment occurred Saturday, August 9 at 11.00 a.m.). I was predeceased by some of my immediate family. My brother Lloyd died when he was only 16 years old on July 16, 1966. My sister Shirley died when she was 44 years old on May 8, 1996 and my mother Lydia died when she was 72 years old on August 23, 1997. My maternal grandparents, Alex Els (January 23, 1976) and Mary Els (April 23, 1997). I leave behind my sister Karen and her husband Norman Genaille, as well as their children Maegan, Ryan, Pamela and Norma-Jean Genaille; Pamelas daughter, Adarea; Norma-Jeans children, Nicholas, Haley, Joshua and Theresa; my brother Vern (Linda). His daughter Christina (James) and her children, Amanda and Madeline, also my Aunts Mildred (Dave), Loreen (Tom), Uncle Herb (Linda), Meta (Mother-in-law), sister-in-law Lucy and brother-in-law Henry Ostrowski. I will greatly miss Uves Aunt Hilde and Wales. Although all my many cousins are special, Id especially like to thank Paul and Barb for being there for me. Lastly I will miss my good friend Sandy Swanston. My first taste of the real world began when I was born at the Yorkton General Hospital in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on Saturday, August 11, 1956. I was the fourth child, born to Victor and Lydia Streck (nee Els). Ive been told that my mom went to visit her mom (my grandma) in Dunleath, SK, because she thought there was lots of time for her to get back home and give birth to me, but as you can see, that wasnt the case. I came along a little earlier than predicted and as a result of my unexpected arrival, I had my first train ride when I was only a few days old. I loved the summer holidays at Grandmas farm in Saskatchewan. Grandmothers cooking and fresh bread inspired us to behave. Most of my childhood was a blur. I couldnt wait to grow up. After attending St. Johns High School, I moved on to work at Swifts Hatchery and Miller Hatcheries. In 1979 I started with Manitoba Public insurance and my last position was as a Call Centre Supervisor till my short (two month) illness took me away. I loved my work and will miss everyone at Manitoba Public Insurance. I worked hard to be honest and fair at work and in life. I enjoyed the work (many long nights of homework) it took to get a certificate in Communications from the University of Winnipeg. I loved volunteering and working for my Church. Epiphany Lutheran Church and pastor Ed Mitchler are a large part of my life as a church member and as a former council member. Thanks, folks for allowing me to share. I truly believe that, I can do all things through Christ who strengthened me. I loved surprising people by doing something special for them. I especially liked the time I knocked Uves socks off by throwing him a surprise 50th birthday party. He didnt suspect it at all. He promised he would get even. I always took pleasure in helping people. There is a phrase that says, "Saturdays child works hard for a living". This is exactly what I did. I worked very hard because I didnt want to live the kind of life my parents endured. I loved planning vacations and my favourite places to spend time away from home was British Columbia, the Rockies and Wales. A memorial service to celebrate my life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Dr., Winnipeg. Thank you to all the staff at Victoria General Hospital and St. Boniface General Hospital Intensive Care Units who worked so hard to help me and were so kind to Uve. Im happy to be in Gods hands now. Ive never liked saying "Good-bye", so as always "See ya " soon. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to The St. Boniface General Hospital & Research Foundation, Lupus Research, 409 Tache Ave., Room D1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Arrangements in care of: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
