PERCIVAL (BART) BARTLEY 1919 - 2003 On Sunday, August 10, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, Dad left us after a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother; and granddaughter Carolyn. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathleen; children Yvonne, Alan, Roger, John, Joyce, Keith, Michael; and numerous grandchildren. Dad served in the R.A.F. in the Second World War after which he and Mom came to Canada to start a new life. Through hard work and perseverance, Dad and Mom raised a family of seven who deeply mourn his passing. Dad loved reading and fishing but his pride and joy was his vegetable garden for which he won many awards from the St. Vital Horticultural Society. He was a faithful member of the congregation at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church for over 50 years. As Dad wished, cremation has already taken place. Please, in lieu of flowers, make a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 3 St. Vital Road, Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a time of fellowship. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I remember my grandfather trying to teach me at 7 yrs old his way of making pulled wool carpets and I couldn't figure it out! He was so cross, but I think he just wanted me to succeed. He used to drive two days straight to visit every few years, and I wish I had known him more, now that I am a fly fisherwoman I wish I had known what type of fishing he did. xoxo - Posted by: Liz Bartley (Granddaughter) on: Jan 12, 2021
