Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES GLENFORD (GLEN) BUCHANAN Glen passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the Seven Oaks Hospital with his family at his side. Glen leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth; his children, Linda (Martin) Vernon, Frank (Penny) Buchanan, Patti Buchanan, Daryl (Marie) Buchanan, Margaret (Trevor) Singbeil, Pam (George) Fenn, Shelley (Al) Johnstone, and Robert Buchanan; grandchildren, Sarah, David, Christopher, Michael, David, Peter, Kaylah, Matthew, Jenetta, Adrian, Graeme, Brittany, and Samantha (Ryan) his first great-granddaughter Emma Dawn. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and dear friends. Glen was born on May 30, 1925 in Waterford, NB where he was raised and received his education. He joined the armed forces in 1943, serving in Germany, France and Belgium before retiring in 1969. Glen was united in marriage with Ruth Steeves and the couple was blessed with eight children. The family was transferred to Winnipeg in 1965 where they have resided until his passing. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Shaughnessy United Church, 1493 Magnus Avenue with Rev. Debbie Voss presiding. A reception will follow at Northwood Community Centre, 1415 Burrows Ave. A private interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision, PO Box 2500 Stn. Streetsville, Mississauga, ON L5M 9X9, as a token of remembrance.
