EVELYN MAY (SHERRY) HOWE (nee SHERRITT) Peacefully at her home in Lac du Bonnet, Sherry Howe passed away at the age of 80 years. She left us to join her beloved husband Mac who predeceased her on March 17, 2002 after 53 years of marriage. Mourning her loss are her children, Debbie (John), Don (Bev), Jan, Maureen (John) step children Maxine (John), Jim (Aurelia) her brothers, Ron (Thelma), Ray; brother-in-law Lloyd (Marilyn) sister-in-law Betty, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mom was born on August 8, 1923 in London, ON and lived there until she joined the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. She was stationed on the west coast and served as a fitness instructor. After the war, she met Dad and they were married on July 31, 1948 living in London, Thunder Bay, Regina and Winnipeg until they retired to their cottage at Wendigo Resort near Lac du Bonnet in 1983. Mom and Dad loved their life at the cottage and shared many happy years there with family and special friends. In the winter, they would travel to the Fiesta Grove RV Camp in Palmetto, Florida. Mom treasured the many friends she made there who she kept in touch with even after their health prevented them from returning. Mom devoted her entire life to her family. Her love and devotion to her husband and children knew no bounds. On their 50th wedding anniversary, Dad said that everything he and her children had become was a credit to Mom. She was the glue that held the family together and made it so strong. She was immensely proud of each of us and loved us unconditionally. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Moms wonderful friends who visited her, kept in touch and were there for her. We will always be grateful. Special thanks also to Dr. Robyn Olson for her care and compassion. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Garry Memorial Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Blvd., followed, at Moms request, by a private interment with the immediate family. If friends so desire, in recognition of Moms lifelong love of animals, donations in her memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. We love you, Mom.
