JOHN GRAHAM AMOS August 23, 1960 - August 12, 2003 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Graham Amos, at the age of 42 years, of Fisher River Cree Nation on August 12, 2003. John leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 21 years, Gloria; his sons, John Jr., Timothy, Terry and Josh; his stepdaughter Barb Thomas; his grandchildren, Tyson, Kieisha and Madison; his brothers, Ralph (Iris), Victor (Nancy), Donald Jr. (Maria), Reginald (Alison), Alvin (Colleen), Kevin (Jeanette) and Alfie (Jen) his sisters, Lorraine (Norman) Stagg, Mary (Vernon) Murdock and Marjorie (Clifford) Cochrane; his special nieces, Charlene (Dave) Patterson and Verna (Jamie) Rose; his loving mother, Harriet; his in-laws, Mable and John Thomas of Jackhead; his surviving aunts, Susan Amos of Winnipeg and Marita Sinclair of Fisher River; and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. John was predeceased by his father, Donald in 1997; his brother Henry Alfred in 1975; his sister, Sarah in 1967; and his grandparents, Eliza Bouchey, John Amos and Joseph Sinclair. John was born and raised in Fisher River. Most of his adult life was spent fishing on Lake Winnipeg. John was presently involved with the Fisher River Recreation Committee, serving as a "Bingo Manager" and had been involved with this organization for several years. John will be sadly missed by his relatives, friends and all that knew him. Special appreciation and thanks are extended to the various organizations and staff of Fisher River Cree Nation; to Dr. C. Andreas, nurses and staff at the Percy E. Moore Hospital; to St. Boniface Cancer Care Unit, for all their care and compassion and especially to Conrad Garson, Keith Murdock, Keith Sinclair and Brian Wilson for all their love and care shown to John. We would like to thank the many family and friends who were with us in attendance and spirit. The donations, cards of sympathy and food baskets are all very much appreciated. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at the Amos Residence in Fisher River and on Thursday, August 14 at the Fisher River Community Hall, beginning at 8:00 p.m. both evenings. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stevens Memorial United Church, Fisher River, MB with Jim Anderson officiating.
