ROSALIA BELAK Peacefully on August 12, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Rosalia Belak, aged 96 years, of Selkirk, MB. Rosalia was born in Czechoslovakia on November 2, 1906 and came to Canada in 1938, settling in Oakbank, MB. In 1951 she moved to Cloverdale and in 1978 moved to Selkirk. She was predeceased by her husband Matey in 1970 and a son Emil in 1994, and leaves surviving two sons, Mike (Rachel) of Selkirk and Albert and granddaughter Christina of Winnipeg; daughter Katherine Mazur (Carl) of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Margaret Belak of Calgary; grandchildren, Margaret Miller (Nick), Sophie Belak (Don Connolly), Beverly Belak and Matthew Belak; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Melissa, Nicole, Jessie and Eric; and two nephews, Ernie (Mary) and family of British Columbia, and Albert (Olga) and family of Winnipeg. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cloverdale United Church, Cloverdale, MB, with interment of ashes to follow in the churchyard. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital, to Loretta Lewis and staff of Selkirk Homecare, and to Victor and Myrtle Helgason. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Selkirk Palliative Care, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
