M. LOREEN (OSADA) OSTLUND (nee ROBB) October 15, 1922 - August 13, 2003 Passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, August 13, 2003. She was predeceased by her son Walter; loving husbands, John Osada and Melvin Ostlund; mother and father Sarah and Edward Robb; sisters, Mabel, Fern, and Ethel; and one brother Vernon. Loreen is survived by her children, Allan Osada, Diana Armstrong, Sharon (Ron Kreger), Debbie Goolcharan, Lorne Osada from Winnipeg, and Richard (Annie) Osada from Alonsa; sisters, Leila Waterbury, Dorothy Weston, and Verona Robb; sister-in-law Sophie Jurkowski; stepchildren, Robert, David, Melvin, and John Ostlund, Sandy Grubsich, and Teedy Laquire; grandchildren, Calvin, Tom, Scott, Paula, John, Randy, Bev, Lisa, Jonathan, Jeremy, Kendra, Crystal, Anthony, Kyle, Ryan, and Cheylyn; great-grandchildren, Julie, Curtis, Taylor, Trisha, Tylo, and Emily; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Loreen was born in Cypress River, MB on October 15, 1922. She married John Osada on October 1, 1941 and together they moved to Sleeman, ON in 1947 and then to Winnipeg in 1966. She had two courageous battles with breast cancer before suffering a stroke in July 1999. She loved her family dearly and immensely enjoyed the many times they spent together. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and compassion that our mom and we received. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the service.
