VERA LAVINA FRANZ It is with deep sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, Vera at the age of 92 on Wednesday, August 14, 2003 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was the heart beat of our family and will forever be remembered for her kind and gentle ways. Our mother was a strong woman, mentally and spiritually, a woman who lived by her principles, never wavering or compromising, a wonderful mother, and a role model for everyone who knew her. Vera was predeceased by her husband Tony; brothers, Les and Charlie; sisters, Jessie and Pat. She is survived by her son, Mac and wife Jean; son Bryan and wife Grace; daughter Donna; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brothers and sisters, Ted, Anne, Doris, Joyce and Bruce; as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Golden Door Centre for their wonderful and compassionate care. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Salvation Army in Veras memory would be appreciated.
