Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN YAKIMOVICH Our beloved husband, and father John, after a short illness, found peace on Wednesday, August 13, 2003. Dad leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Nettie; his sons, Tony (Diane), Jim (Diana), Terry (April) grandchildren, Jeff, Cindy, Shanon, Carrie, Ben and sister Annie. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anastasia; his brothers, Steve, Mike and Nick; sisters, Mary and Sadie. Dad, the son of pioneers, was born at the family homestead in Gonor, MB on November 10, 1913. He was employed with C.P.R. for 40 years and although retired for almost 30 years, Dad always kept busy with his garden and recreational activities at the numerous Seniors Clubs he belonged to. Dad took great pride in his children and grandchildrens activities and accomplishments. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6297 Henderson Hwy., Gonor, MB. Interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Many thanks to Dr. Moncek and the staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for all the excellent care and compassion Dad received. Dad will always be remembered with love as we think about how hard he worked on the farm and at the railroad and how much he did for the family. We will remember things he has taught us and the encouragement he gave us. We see how his wisdom and guidance helped shape our lives. We will look back on favourite memories that remind us how much we have always meant to each other, and will always feel proud, thankful and so very lucky.
