JACK M. ROSS 1929 -2003 Jack Ross passed away August 4, 2003 after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife Marina; daughters, Katina Sudermann (Bob), and Jacqueline Brown (David) grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Ashton and Andreas Sudermann, Connor and Riley Brown; brothers, Harry and Ralph (Ineka) mother-in-law Elsie Katronis; brother-in-law Tom Katronis (Edith) nieces, Diana, Joan, Jennifer, Jamie, Lynn, Lisa; nephews Doug, David, Jonathon and Bradley. Mr. Ross was born in Winnipeg. In 1951 he graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Architecture and practiced his profession for 25 years with Waisman, Ross and Associates, 1953-64; Number Ten Architectural Group, 1964-72 and Jack M. Ross, Architect 1972-78. His designs earned one Massey Medal for Architecture and several Massey honourable mentions. In 1974 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Mr. Ross served on a number of boards including, Manitoba Centennial Corporation, Pan American Games Society, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Rainbow Stage Theatre, Canadian Council of Christians and Jews and Balmoral Hall School. In addition he served on two provincial task forces, the Committee on Manitobas Economic Future and Targets for Economic Development. From 1965-72 he was the chairman of the Manitoba Design Institute. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service was held on August 7.
